Natracare Tampons Natracare products are:

Irritation

Natracare Natural Pads Some women suffer from skin allergies and irritations, which can cause discomfort. Symptoms such as soreness and/or itchiness are often heightened during menstruation due to synthetic and plastic ingredients in sanitary products.

Unlike other tampons Natracare tampons are free from rayon, binders, plastics, surfactants, resins and fragrances. Natracare pads do not contain polyacrylic absorbents or have plastic covers that lie next to the skin, both of which can cause irritation. Many women have found relief from irritation when changing to Natracare products.

Dioxin

Natracare Panty Liners & Ultra Pads Dioxin pollution is one of the world's most serious environmental problems. A large amount of the world's dioxin is produced during the manufacturing process of certain chlorinated products such as paper pulp. These are used in the production of tampons and sanitary towels. Natracare's manufacturing processes are 100% chlorine free. They do not use chlorine dioxide or elemental chlorine, which produce dioxins.

Ongoing research by the US Government has concluded that dioxin is a 'human carcinogen'. Estimates are that approximately 100 of the 1400 cancer deaths in the US occurring daily are attributable to dioxin poisoning (ref: US Government Environmental Protection Agency).

Dioxin builds up in the body from birth. Heightened exposure means heightened risk. Dioxin accumulates in the fat cells of the body masquerading as a hormone. This can lead to disruption of the body's own hormones. Women are unnecessarily exposed to low levels of dioxins every time they use tampons and sanitary towels. The average woman uses approximately 11,000 tampons in her lifetime.

Biodegradable

Every year over 45 BILLION sanitary pads are disposed of somewhere! Placed end to end, they would stretch all the way to the sun and to bury them would take a hole 300 feet deep and 300 feet wide. Most sanitary pads and feminine wipes are loaded with synthetic materials such as plastic, that does not break down in the earth for hundreds of years. All Natracare products are between 95% - 100% biodegradable and compostable.
